Among the European Union countries, why is there such a price difference?

It is mainly contingent upon median income coupled with the availability of dental health care services. For example, the UK, Switzerland, and Ireland, fortunately enjoy a higher median income than other countries in the European Union. Because there are fewer dentists in these countries, they charge more for their services. So basically, higher income coupled with less availability will make the same service more expensive than outside of these countries.

To demonstrate this further, a patient came to our facility from Germany, seeking to have some Swedish Procera crowns installed. These particular crowns just happened to be the most expensive in the world. Had she stayed in Munich to have these crowns installed they would have cost her 2000 to 2500 €. Her intent was to have 10 crowns placed, and the total in Munich, would have cost 25,000 €. Fortunately she was wise enough to seek out our state-of-the-art facility, and had the exact same procedure done by our dental health care experts for a total of 5000 €, or just 500 € for each crown. That is a huge difference considering that the crowns were actually not made in Germany or in Poland.

Following the approximate 20 working hours of preparation for the crowns a scan is sent directly to Sweden from which the crowns are made and returned to the dentist. So both the dentist and Germany, and the dentist in Poland receive their crowns from the same place, and the price difference is for labor. This is a perfect example of how extreme the price difference can be between two countries that are just a few hundred kilometers apart.
