Can I have the permanent implant teeth installed immediately?

No. The metal base rod of the implant needs to grow into the bone itself for at least three to four months in the case of teeth being installed in the lower jaw, and up to six months minimum for teeth installed in the upper jaw. If you are just having one or a few teeth installed, the dentist will build functional temporary restorations to be used during the waiting period. If you are having all of your teeth replaced with implants, and you presently use dentures, you will be able to continue wearing them following some post-surgery adjustments.
