Methods

1. By using whitening trays overnight. Moulds are made of the upper and lower teeth impressions and the patient gets celluloid  custom-made bleaching trays. These need to worn for a minimum of six hours per day or alternatively while sleeping. You will be shown how to place the whitening gel in the trays. You will be able to do it yourself and whitening by this method takes 7-14 days.
2. Immediate whitening-this method needs to be carried out by qualified staff. In a bout an hour staff apply a whitening gel and using a special lamp three times creates an immediate effect on your teeth.
3. Whitening of non-vital teeth-Whitening gel is applied to a dead discolored tooth and left for 2-3 weeks.

Are there any side effects ?

Teeth can be more sensitive to hot and cold (thermal stimuli) during or just after the procedures. This is normally temporary and be gone after a few days. The fluoridation of all teeth shortens the hypersensitivity period of the patients who have this treatment.
